Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium edition: snap

Leica are about to release a special edition of their D-Lux 5 camera under the Titanium badge, which means the tasty little point and shoot is going to get even better. Well better looking at least.

Out and about: famioly comes to town

 I don't often have much cause to do the sights in London, so when my cousin Mike and his wife Tabi paid a visit from America for the first time in a decade it seemed like just the thing to take in a few.

 All the images are taken with a Leica D-Lux 4, uncropped and unphotoshopped.

D-Lux 4: pimp my little Leica

I fancied getting a bit more experimental with my picture taking the other day so started to Google polarizing lenses for the camera.

While I have yet to discover the correct accessories to attach said lens to my camera, I have stumbled upon some fine examples of D-Lux 4 pimpery. It seems there's a whole legion of nutters out there accessorising their  cameras with rare and hard to find equipment.

If I ever find the relevant adaptor myself I will be able to let you know if this actually makes for an improved image.

Leica V-Lux 20: Close up and personal

Looks like Leica has pulled it out of the bag with its latest compact. The V-Lux 20 has got a 12 x optical zoom and a 12.1mp sensor.

That means you can shoot a rabbit's chuff at 50 paces and blow the resulting image up to the size of your bedroom wall, if the urge takes you.

There's also HD recording for the filmmaker in you. I do hope they've addressed the quality conversion issue for media players, because that is nothing short of shocking, as my own videos prove.

Still, you get all this in a slick looking little block which is about the size of a packet of fags. What's more, they've added a handgrip.
