Dunhill laser keyboard: great idea, never works

This is clever little box projects a keyboard onto a flat surface to enable you to type to your heart's content on a full-size keyboard virtually anywhere.

As well as this being something of a surprising development from Dunhill, which is better known for well-made clothing and once-upon-a-time for cigarettes, it is also something that historically has never worked.

People have come up with these things before and they can be as frustrating as trying to key in a sentence on a Sinclair ZX81. Still, you never know, maybe Dunhill know something we don't. technology has advanced after all.

This is all to do with a new vision from Dunhill of integrating technology.

But I am left with the burning question: if this really works, how come Apple haven't done it? Just saying.

White City

I know a few of you were annoyed when I posted that I would no longer be running Openzedoor from this feed and would instead switch to Tumblr. This was because I was unable to devote sufficient time to the blog due to other commitments.

This is the other commitment. Over the past few months I have been polishing and trying to get published my debut novel, White City.

It is a tale of drugs and excess and illegal parties in 1993, which has gone down as a vintage year in the dance music scene, told through the eyes of a drug dealer.

I am about to embark on my second novel, and if there are any of you left out there, I could resurrect Openzedoor in its Blogspot state at a later juncture. Until then, find the slimline Openzedoor here

Mike Parker's office: A tick from me

Sometimes I look around at my office at home and think that maybe I ought to dispense with the toys and make it a little more in tune with my age. And then I come across this, the office of Mike Parker, the CEO of Nike.

Which would explain the proliferation of ticks, although it's interesting to see some of the other items he's got in there, like the model cyclists.

It's the kind of office my dreams are made of - and my nightmares. It must take weeks to dust it.
