Ray Ban New Wayfarer: shades of green

I was kind of drawn to these shades from the other side of the sunglasses room at Liberty - there is always something about an army green that will command my attention.

As luck would have it they look half decent on, what with their graduated lenses, and I have it on good authority from my beloved that the green complements my ginger bonce perfectly.

And they keep the sun out. Winner, then.

Rapha Continental Amgen Tour of California

A bunch of Rapha riders recently completed four stages of the Tour of California, which sounds like a very decent ride to me. They went for the stages with the most climbs, "to see the vastly different topographical offerings that the State of California has".

I'm quite sure I would have done the same.

Jose Parla Character Gestures: saying it with swirls

I'm not sure if the caligraphy Jose Parla uses in his pictures actually says anything or if it's just a load of swirly letters that look good. You can lose your mind thinking about these things.

Colnago Ace: the new ride

I've been meaning to put a few shots up of the new ride for a while now. I've already clocked up something like 800 miles on it and I can safely say our relationship is still very much in its infancy.


This is the bike that will hopefully be taking me on the Etape du Tour in July.

The garden's looking a bit better now too. 

Montana paints: birth of a spraycan

Here's an interesting consideration for anyone who has ever used a spray can - it all starts with a man in a white coat.

Hardly what you're going to be thinking about as you tackle that mural around the back of Tesco, but fascinating nonetheless, and it is my duty to point out at this juncture that spray paints work equally as well on canvas ... scrap wood ... cardboard ... brickwork ...

Motor cycle riders can be an colourful bunch, as Last week's Shakedown at Southend seafront illustrated. As well as the riders themselves, the perfect weather also brought out a fair smattering of day trippers.
