Rapha luggage: well contained

Rapha has already had one foray into the world of luggage. There has been a rucksack, holdall and small messenger bag, as well as the simple yet effective bonk bag.

The line has been relaunched with a bit more substance and pieces which look a little suitable for the transportation of hefty loads.

The luggage line features seven pieces in all, ranging from a decent sized race bag through to a sturdier than average tote and even a wash bag.

Take a look at the full collection here.

Murakami at the Gagosian: knockers before entering

Here's an eyeful of the new Takashi Murakami exhibition at the Gagosian in London, which runs until August 5.

Of course there will be more on offer than cute manga looking girls with massive tits, but what more do you really need to know about? A square headed kid? OK there's one of them too.

Yuketen x Eligens (Look de Luxe) chukka

Can it really be more than a year since I was in a dark basement in Barcelona Ramblas surrounded by Visvim? Evidently so, and those Shaman Folk are still going strong.

When I was there, Ricky from Chikahitsu was all made up over the opening of his Eligens (Look de Luxe) store, and to celebrate the first anniversary of its opening, as well as Ricky's 35th birthday, Eligens has got together with Yuketen to produce a highly limited chukka.

It has a hunting crepe sole, comes with variable lace colourways and even a selection of fringes, meaning that if you are one of the 35 people lucky enough to get your hands on them, you will still be able to make them unlike any other.

The Selby on Tom Sachs: the artist knolling at home

I had wondered if there was something wrong with the fact that I find a certain satisfaction in placing objects around my working area in neat little lines.

I now know that I am not alone - what's more there's a name for the practise, at least there is in Tom Sachs' studio. He calls it knolling. I'm with you Tom, I am a knoller too.

We also seem to share something in common in trying to quantify the cost of tasks. Take my cyclists - the amount of time I spend on them I should be selling them for £200 a piece.

More on Tom Sachs' studio below.

New arrivals: Yukene Maine Guide boots, Visvim indigo pollock

As far as I am concerned there are two boots which qualify as iconic footwear. One is the Visvim Virgil, and the other is the Yuketen Maine Guide boot.

I was on the verge of getting the Visvims until it was pointed out by the other half that it would be the equivalent of her coming home with a pair of Louboutins, and "the Yuketens look better anyway".

So in order to maintain the fragile peace for a while longer at least, the Yuketens it was.

To sate my desire to get at least something Visvim, along came a Pollock indigo crew which I couldn't pass up. So in the bag that went too.

Le P'tit Velo: new entrants

Here's a couple more P'tit Velo which are presently pedalling their way to a new life on Ebay.

This release features another Rapha Condor Sharp team rider, this time with a new and imnproved 2011 team outfit.

The other fella is in a more laidback mood, riding in a Rapha+Paul Smith purple short sleeved Henley and a red and green striped Rapha+Paul Smith racing cap.

The auctions can be found here and here.

Moncler Gamme Bleu: camping out with Star Wars

Moncler Gamme Bleu has never been afraid of an epic runway show and the unveiling of the spring / summer 2012 collection is no exception.

The whole thing is a bit reminiscent of an amateur dramatics interpretation of Star Wars, the bit when Darth Vader arrives at the death star.

You've even got a squad of camp storm trooper looking types, brandishing swords instead of phaser guns and striped up in the colours of the tricolour.  Talking of which, a tricolour codpiece on the death star would have had you in a death grip before you could say helmet.

Carhartt x Uniform Experiment and Sophnet: Japanese flavour

Carhartt has had a bit of a workover from a couple of the more stylish names in Japanese fashion.

In the space of a day we have been given a taste of the American workwear brand's collaborations with Uniform Experiment and Sophnet.

This isn't the first time Carhartt has looked towards the east for some divine inspiration - it follows on from a partnership with Bathing Ape a year or more ago.
